Using just 0.1% of our land, Queensland’s resources sector, including coal, minerals, metals and gas, goes a long way.
Just 0.1% of land used to produce the resources the world needs generates 24% of QLD’s entire revenue.
And it contributes over $120 billion - or one in every four dollars - to our state’s economy.
Just 0.1% turns potential into prosperity, supporting more than 554,000 Queensland jobs. That’s one in every six jobs supported by the QLD resources sector.
It also invests back into our community. Billions in royalties paid to the QLD Government each year flow directly into the essential services we need, like hospitals, schools, infrastructure, and our police and emergency services.
A healthy QLD resources sector supports over 17,000 local businesses and more than 1,650 community groups, from charities to local sporting clubs.
All of this, from just 0.1% of QLD.
